FAQs

  • A sound bath is a non-invasive therapeutic alternative. It is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that uses sounds to nurture both body and mind . You bathed in sounds and vibrations created by different instruments (for us, it is crystal bowls). This experience takes you into a very relaxed, dream-like state, where your mind is resting, and your body is healing. The goal is to help you enter a deep state of relaxation. A sound bath serves as a gateway into deeper meditation.

  • Sound baths are very effective for stress relief and letting go. Sometimes, they also aid in reducing pain. The science behind this lies in how our bodies respond to high and low frequencies—something that regular music cannot achieve. Regular music has beats, and when we listen, we often anticipate what will come next; this engages the sympathetic nervous system.

The difference between the music we listen to every day and a sound bath is that sound baths create androgynous sounds, allowing us to deactivate the sympathetic nervous system and transition into a state dominated by the parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system is a network of nerves that regulates involuntary bodily functions like digestion. When the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system increases, blood pressure and heart rate decrease, leading to a greater sense of relaxation

  • Originating in Japan, head spa treatments include a scalp massage that applies gentle pressure to pressure points (promoting increased blood circulation to the scalp) along with deep conditioning, aromatherapy, and hot towel/steam treatments.

During a head spa treatment, a hair therapist will use essential oils, scalp scrubs, and deep conditioning masks to exfoliate the scalp, remove excess oils and debris, and hydrate the hair follicles. You can also expect a vigorous scalp massage to alleviate tension, increase stimulation, and relax the scalp muscles. According to trichologist Penny James, the massage techniques performed at Japanese head spas "target and lift the scalp muscles to stimulate blood flow to the scalp."
